10 Month Update

Last week our rapidly growing littlest princess turned double digits! AHHHHH!!!!  I really do not like how fast they grow up, but I have been so blessed to get to see it happen each and every day :)

Here are some fun facts about Calliope around the 10 month mark:

* She weights an estimated 20 lbs
* She is about 30 in. tall
* SHE IS WALKING!!!  She has been doing this for about 2 weeks now, and getting faster by the day
* As of today I see that she is FINALLY cutting her two bottom teeth! WOO HOO!
* She is a really really busy girl.  She loves to explore all over, and as with most babies, loves to put everything in her mouth.  This makes for a very tense mom some days!
* She is still a tough cookie to get to laugh that intense belly laugh.  She has such a serious demeanor, its pretty funny.  However, we do get her to cackle alot, and her favorite person to laugh at is her big sister Peyton :) P definitely gets the most laughs out of her.
* She loves to try new foods, and I am thinking that she will be able to make the transition to whole milk just fine.  I have been introducing foods with some milk in it, and she seems to be doing great with it.
* We are weaning her off of her Prevacid for reflux.  She is currently on half of the dosage per day. 
* She really likes to watch the MickeyMouse Clubhouse, and we do the hot dog dance each day :)
* She LOVES to imitate what others do...  she claps, waves, says bye bye, and is trying to say many other words.  I read to her each day, and she loves this too. She of course has momma, dada, nana, and papa in her regular vocab...
*She is drinking 4 bottles a day, anywhere from 4-8 oz.  Just depends on what kind of mood she is in. She eats stage 3 baby food 3 times a day, and also has her snacks. Which she LOVES! She never shys away from food, go figure! Just recently she tried watermelon, and she LOVE LOVE LOVES it. Just have to be careful to not give her too much.
* She wakes up at 6ish, and goes to sleep by 7ish. We try and get 4 naps in, because she never really rests for more than 45-60 minutes. But it works for her and I.

A big weekend of "firsts" for Calliope

Over the Memorial Day weekend, we took a trip to Kansas City for one of Drew's baseball tournaments.  Calliope came with this time!  She has been staying with my mom when we travel overnight, but she got to attend this one.

She was a perfect angel!

She got to do the following things for the first time:

*sleep overnight in a hotel room
*go on a road trip longer than an hour
*swim!
*go to the zoo
*carousel ride

All in all, we had a great weekend away.  She was a trooper with sleeping in her pack n play with all of the other people in the room.  She was great at the ball games, even in the heat.  And even though she was a bit too young to really enjoy the zoo, she still hung in there, and was a trooper.

Easter 2011

Ok, so yes, this is really, REALLY late in being posted... however, it is our "busy season", and I have a really busy little girl that doesn't really allow for me to blog during the day anymore.  So I am doing the best I can :)

This was Calliope's first Easter, and is was a really rainy, dreary one. :(  So, no egg hunting was had this year, but she has many years ahead of her to do that anyway!

On a side note, I really hated the way that flower looked... however, she will no longer leave headbands on, so I was desperate. The things a mom will do.  Never again though, never again.
